Tour de Bleu Celebrates Two Years and $14.6 Million for Neurological Research 

Over the past two years, the Tour de Bleu community has rallied around an ambitious cause: advancing groundbreaking neurological research at University Health Network (UHN)’s Krembil Brain Institute. 

Together, riders, philanthropists, and sponsors have raised an extraordinary $14.6 million, supporting research into neurodegenerative diseases, spinal cord injury, and neuroregeneration, and helping researchers pursue discoveries with the potential to transform care for patients and families.

Two years united by one cause 

Tour de Bleu has always demonstrated what can happen when people come together around a shared purpose. For the past two years, that purpose has been supporting the researchers and clinicians at Krembil Brain Institute working to better understand and treat some of the most complex conditions affecting the brain, spine, and nervous system. 

Their work is exploring new possibilities in treating neurodegenerative conditions such as Parkinson’s disease and advancing neuroregenerative therapies that seek to understand how the nervous system becomes damaged and how it might be protected, repaired, or regenerated. 

Progress in these areas could open the door to new approaches to treatment and better outcomes, offering hope to patients and families facing conditions for which treatment options remain limited.

That community has been at the heart of Tour de Bleu since its beginning. Over the years, the event has supported leading health care organizations and initiatives, demonstrating the difference that collective generosity can make.
