Introducing our 2026 Annual Report, Built to Flourish
We’re pleased to share the Peter Gilgan Foundation’s 2026 Annual Report, Built to Flourish, detailing our initiatives and impact from June 2025 to May 2026.
This year was one of reflection, rigour, and growth. We refined our mission and reviewed each of our five funding pillars, bringing greater clarity to how we partner, how we grant, and how we grow alongside the organizations we support.
For the first time, this year’s report includes a more complete picture of the impact we’re proud to help achieve through our partners. A few highlights from the past year:
- Across our grant programs, our partners reported that the projects we’ve supported together reached 476,862 people this year, the fullest picture yet of the collective impact we’re building.
- We began a new partnership with Princess Margaret Cancer Centre to establish the Peter Gilgan Centre for Early Cancer Detection Research, advancing one of the world’s most ambitious early cancer detection initiatives.
- In September 2025, the 20th annual Tour de Bleu rallied 52 cyclists across the finish line at Toronto General Hospital, raising $7.7 million for brain health research at UHN’s Krembil Brain Institute and bringing cumulative fundraising to more than $53 million over two decades.
We’ve spent the past year walking alongside our partners to address some of the most urgent challenges of our time, from climate change and inequality to access to education and opportunity. This work reflects our belief that thoughtful, values-driven philanthropy can be a catalyst for lasting change. We hope you’ll take a moment to read the stories of the organizations featured in this report as they continue building a more sustainable, healthy, and prosperous future for all.
