Tour de Bleu Raises Record-Breaking $11.9 Million for Youth Mental Health
On a wet Sunday in early September, 69 cyclists braved the weather to cross the Tour de Bleu finish line, raising $6.23 million for William Osler Health System’s Adolescent Intensive Day program for youth struggling with self-harm and suicidal thoughts.
For the second consecutive year, Tour de Bleu has raised funds in support of Osler’s specialized youth mental health services, bringing the two-year total to a record-breaking $11.9 million.
Suicide is the number one leading cause of death for youth in the region, and it’s critical that timely, specialized care is easily accessible.
Osler experiences the largest number of Emergency Department mental health visits in the GTA and beyond. The need for timely access to mental health care is great and the support from Tour de Bleu is helping to create capacity to ensure youth can access the care they need, when they need it.
